Last night
Philadelphia Weekly's ‘Concerts in the Park’ series continued with original indie talent. Local music enthusiasts of all ages packed the center of
Rittenhouse Square with the intention to rock out to quality indie rock performances (which were put on hold until this week due to last week's inclimate weather).
Doylestown, Pa’s
Drink Up Buttercup took the stage first, hooking the crowds interest with their genuine lyricism and harmonized vocals. Their steady tempos are reminiscent of a 60‘s folk meets 70‘s classic rock impression that set the stage for the rest of the evening.
Brooklyn’s
A Place to Bury Strangers headlined the event with songs that truly embody indie rock. The bands smooth consistent bass tones accompanied the melodic cries of front man, Oliver Ackermann’s, guitar as it rang throughout the park to the enjoyment of those in attendance.
Overall, the show certainly did not disappoint as the
Concerts in the Park series continues to preserve the city's live music scene. Be sure to come out to Rittenhouse Square next Wednesday, September 1st, for
